Telangana: 13,046 Farm Ponds to be Completed by August 15: Dana Kishore
Hyderabad, Aug. 4 (TNT): Special Chief Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department, M. Dana Kishore on Tuesday directed district officials to complete the construction of 13,046 farm ponds across Telangana by August 15.
He issued the directions during a State-level video conference held here with District Rural Development Officers (DRDOs), District Panchayat Officers (DPOs), Chief Executive Officers of Zilla Parishads (CEOs, ZPs), MPDOs, Panchayat Secretaries and other district and mandal-level officials.
Reviewing the implementation of VB-G RAM-G, Telangana Jalasiri and the Gram Panchayat Samagra Abhivruddhi Pranalika (GPSAP), Dana Kishore instructed officials to ensure 100 per cent identification, administrative sanction and grounding of farm ponds in every Gram Panchayat.
He also directed each district to take up at least 50 eco farm ponds through convergence with SERP-NRLM, and the Animal Husbandry, Horticulture and Fisheries departments.
The Special Chief Secretary asked officials to accord top priority to water conservation works under Telangana Jalasiri, including farm ponds, soak pits, percolation tanks, borewell recharge structures and open wells.
He instructed district officials to undertake daily field inspections, hold regular review meetings with mandal-level officers and closely monitor the progress of works to ensure the targets are achieved within the stipulated timeline.
Dana Kishore also directed officials to complete the manual preparation of Gram Panchayat Samagra Abhivruddhi Pranalika (GPSAP) plans and compile comprehensive Gram Panchayat-wise data for preparing a three-year perspective development plan for all Gram Panchayats.
