72,956 Students to re-Appear for NEET in Telangana on June 21
Hyderabad, June 6 (TNT): As many as 72,956 students are expected to re-appear for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) at 208 examination centres across 24 cities in Telangana on June 21.
Reviewing the arrangements for the nationwide medical entrance examination on Saturday, Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao directed district collectors to ensure foolproof arrangements and coordinate with all departments to provide candidates with a smooth and hassle-free experience on the examination day.
National Testing Agency (NTA) Director General Abhishek Singh said enhanced security measures are being implemented for this year’s examination.
He noted that, for the first time, the Indian Air Force will be engaged in transporting question papers, underscoring the importance attached to maintaining the integrity and security of the examination process.
Principal Secretary (Health) Christina Zongthu informed that necessary arrangements related to infrastructure, transportation, security, power supply, drinking water and other essential facilities are being put in place at all examination centres.
Additional Director General of Police Mahesh Bhagwat stressed the need for close coordination between the police and civil administration to ensure comprehensive security arrangements.
He directed officials to remain vigilant against rumour mongering and misinformation and to actively monitor social media platforms to counter any false information that could affect the conduct of the examination.
The review meeting was attended by senior officials from the police, health and other departments involved in conducting the examination.
