1053rd Tirumala Nambi Avatara Mahotsavams Conclude in Tirumala
Tirumala, Aug 21 (TNT): The 1053rd Avatara Mahotsavams of Sri Tirumala Nambi, revered as the first citizen of Tirumala for his lifelong service to Sri Venkateswara Swamy, concluded at Tirumala Nambi Sannidhi on South Mada Street on Friday.
As part of the celebrations, 16 scholars from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka delivered discourses on the life and contributions of Sri Tirumala Nambi.
Addressing the gathering, 101-year-old scholar Sri Srinivasacharya said Pundarikaksha, Bhagavad Ramanuja and Vedanta Desika followed the path shown by Sri Tirumala Nambi and played a significant role in propagating the Visishtadvaita philosophy and Sri Vaishnava tradition.
Earlier, TTD Additional Executive Officer Sri Ch Venkayya Chowdary offered prayers at the shrine.
TTD Special Officer of the Alwar Divya Prabandha Project Dr M Tirumalisai Alwar, descendants of Tirumala Nambi T K Seshadri Swamy and T K Mukunda Tatacharya and others participated in the concluding celebrations.
