Bengaluru, Apr 10 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education and IT Nara Lokesh on Friday called upon youth to embrace challenges, stay focused on their goals and avoid blindly following trends.
He stated that ethical values remain the greatest strength in a world driven by shortcuts.
Addressing the graduation day celebrations of the IB Diploma Programme 2026 at ‘Greenwood High International School’ in Sarjapur here, Lokesh said education is not merely about what one learns, but about how one thinks.
He urged students to choose their own path and pursue their ambitions instead of chasing changing trends.
“Trends change, but goals remain constant. Always choose the path less travelled,” he said.
Sharing his personal journey, Lokesh recalled his defeat in the 2019 Assembly elections from ‘Mangalagiri’ and said setbacks had strengthened his resolve to move forward.
He said his ‘Yuvagalam Padayatra’, covering over 3,132 kilometres across Andhra Pradesh in 2023, transformed his perspective by enabling him to understand governance from the people’s point of view.
Lokesh said his victory from Mangalagiri in the 2024 elections with a margin of 91,413 votes reflected the trust reposed in him by the people.
He stressed that character is defined by what a person does when no one is watching and urged students to uphold integrity and moral values in all walks of life.
Lokesh appreciated the role of ‘Sattva Group’ in building institutions like Greenwood High and said the group would also be partnering in the development of Andhra Pradesh and Visakhapatnam.
He said Greenwood High was creating global citizens by equipping students with knowledge, life skills and confidence to face future challenges.
Among those present were Bijay Agarwal, Managing Director of Sattva Group, Sheila Alexander, Principal of Greenwood High, Neeru Agarwal, Managing Trustee, and other faculty members.
