Hyderabad, Feb 4 (TNT) : In a significant boost to India’s agri-biotech and sustainable farming ecosystem, Koppert Sustainable Solutions India Limited (KoSSIL) has inaugurated one of the world’s largest single-location Mycorrhiza production facilities in Hyderabad, responding to rapidly growing global demand for eco-friendly agricultural solutions.
The facility was inaugurated by Aron Oosthoek, Managing Director of the Reka BV Group, in the presence of delegates from Europe and South America and representatives of leading Indian agrochemical companies, the company said in a release here on Thursday.
In his address on the occasion, Oosthoek described Mycorrhiza as a powerful example of nature-driven innovation.
“Through KoSSIL, our joint venture with Agrilife, we aim to tackle global soil health challenges—starting with Mycorrhiza and expanding to a full range of microbial consortium products,” he said.
Dr. Venkatesh Devanur, Managing Director of Agrilife, highlighted the indigenous R&D strength behind the project.
He noted that more than a decade of research—ranging from strain isolation to commercial-scale production has been carried out entirely in India, underscoring the country’s growing capabilities in advanced agri-biotechnology.
Industry observers see the launch as timely, coinciding with renewed momentum in EU–India trade ties and rising demand for sustainable crop solutions.
By anchoring large-scale, high-spec manufacturing in Hyderabad, KoSSIL is expected to generate downstream opportunities for contract manufacturing, exports, and partnerships, reinforcing India’s role in the global agri-biotech value chain.
