Why Roll Back Excise Policy If There Was No Corruption? CM Rekha Gupta Questions Kejriwal Clean Chit

Delhi, Mar 1 (TNT): Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday raised questions over the clean chit given to her predecessor Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia, asking why the city’s excise policy was rolled back if allegations of corruption were false.

Speaking at the News18 Rising Bharat Summit, Gupta said the AAP government’s ledgers were evidence of wrongdoing. “If there was no corruption, why was the liquor policy rolled back the moment the probe began?” she asked.

Gupta also criticized Kejriwal’s liquor policies, including offers of “one bottle free with another,” pink bars for women, and lowering the legal drinking age to increase youth consumption, calling it a breach of public trust.

On the court verdict clearing Kejriwal, Gupta said, “Friday’s decision came from a lower court. Every aspect of the previous government—from hospitals and medicines to schools and Mohalla clinics—was mired in corruption. The judicial process will eventually reveal the truth.”

She dismissed Congress claims of BJP-AAP collusion, calling them “laughable” and asserting that Congress, “a directionless party, can make any claim.”
