Visakhapatnam, Apr 9 (TNT): The Visakhapatnam Port Authority (VPA) successfully conducted an Emergency Preparedness Training & Mock Drill in collaboration with the NDRF team at the Sagaramala Convention Auditorium here on Wednesday.
The programme was organized under the guidance and leadership of VPA Chairperson and Dy. Chairperson, whose constant encouragement and emphasis on safety preparedness continue to strengthen emergency response mechanisms at the port.
The inaugural session included a keynote address by the Chief Mechanical Engineer, followed by a briefing on disaster management and technical sessions by VPA Fire Services and NDRF experts, the port said in a release here.
The event also featured practical demonstrations, table top exercises, and a live mock drill at EQ-3 berth (Scenario: Ammonium Nitrate carrying trailer Head on Collision with Oil tanker).
The training aimed to enhance coordination, preparedness, and response efficiency among port personnel and stakeholders in handling emergency situations.
VPA remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and disaster readiness.
