Union Budget 2026–27: Youth Power, Jobs and Industrial Growth in Focus

New Delhi, Feb 1 (TNT): The Union Budget 2026–27 has been framed as a “Youth Power Budget” with a clear focus on employment generation, promotion of startups and innovation, and strengthening of India’s industrial and manufacturing base.

Presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Lok sabha on Sunday, the budget seeks to encourage young entrepreneurs while laying the groundwork for long-term economic growth.

Under the Kartavya Growth framework, the government has announced incentives across seven priority areas, including job creation, development of champion MSMEs, implementation of 350 industrial reforms, boosting manufacturing output, rapid expansion of infrastructure on a war footing, and strengthening seven strategic sectors considered vital for the country’s future growth.

The budget also places strong emphasis on healthcare through the Bio Pharma Shakti scheme, under which ₹10,000 crore has been allocated over the next five years.

The scheme aims to address chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes and hypertension, while strengthening the bio-pharmaceutical sector as part of the vision for a healthier India.

To support small and medium enterprises, the budget has announced a dedicated MSME Development Fund with an allocation of ₹10,000 crore, along with an additional ₹2,000 crore to provide financial assistance to small-scale industries.

A special platform will also be created to resolve liquidity and credit-related challenges faced by MSMEs.

Overall, the Union Budget 2026–27 emphasizes youth empowerment, job creation, healthcare advancement, infrastructure development and MSME support, positioning these sectors as key drivers of sustained economic growth.
