Tirupati,Mar 13 (TNT): Ugadi Asthanam will be observed at the Govindaraja Swamy Temple here on March 19 on the occasion of the Ugadi festival.
On this day, the Lord will be awakened with Suprabhatam, followed by Thomala Seva, Koluvu, Panchanga Sravanam and Archana in the morning.
In the evening, Panchanga Sravanam and Ugadi Asthanam will be held from 4.30 p.m. to 6.00 p.m.
As part of the festivities, Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam will be performed in the temple on March 16, which is customary ahead of the Ugadi festival.
On this occasion, the Lord will be awakened with Suprabhatam, followed by Thomala Seva, Koluvu and Panchanga Sravanam.
The temple cleansing ritual will be conducted from 7.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m.
During the ritual, the temple premises including walls, roof and puja materials will be thoroughly cleansed with water.
Later, a sacred mixture prepared with Namakkoppu, Srichurnam, Kasturi turmeric, Pachhaaku, camphor, sandalwood powder, kumkum and kitchili root will be sprinkled throughout the temple.
Devotees will be allowed for darshan from 9.30 a.m. onwards after completion of the ritual.
