Tirumala, Feb 25 (TNT): Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has once again cautioned devotees to remain vigilant against brokers and fake websites allegedly cheating pilgrims by offering accommodation in Tirumala.
The warning follows a complaint from a devotee, C.K. Suresh Babu from Kerala, who was reportedly cheated by a person claiming to provide rooms under the name “Karnataka Pravasi Soudha” in Tirumala.
Following the complaint, the TTD Vigilance Department conducted an inquiry and found that unauthorized persons had created fake websites using images of the Srivari Temple and TTD’s name to mislead devotees.
These websites, appearing in online search results, were collecting money through online payment modes.
TTD, through its IT Department, has lodged complaints with the police seeking legal action against those operating such fraudulent websites.
Cases have also been registered under the Copyright Act against websites illegally using TTD logos and temple images.
TTD reiterated that bookings for darshan, accommodation, and seva tickets should be made only through the official TTD website and advised devotees to immediately report any suspicious websites, calls, or offers to avoid falling victim to fraud.
