Tirumala, Feb 23 (TNT): Refuting the media reports claiming that a woman devotee was bitten by a snake in the darshan queue line at Tirumala, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Monday stated that the reports are completely baseless and far from the truth.
In a release, the TTD said , a couple – Sarath Babu and Mounika from Warangal district of Telangana arrived at Tirumala on Sunday night for darshan of Lord Sri Venkateswara.
After reaching the R.B. Centre parking area near the SV Museum by taxi, Mounika reportedly stepped aside into a nearby dark area to apply turmeric to her feet.
During that time, she felt a sudden touch on her leg and panicked. Her husband noticed a small snake at the spot and immediately alerted security personnel.
TTD security staff promptly shifted the devotee to Aswini Hospital at Tirumala, where doctors conducted a thorough examination and confirmed that there was no sign of a snake bite.
As a precautionary measure, she was referred to Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Tirupati, where doctors also confirmed that there were no medical complications.
An inquiry further revealed that the snake was non-venomous.
The devotees expressed gratitude to TTD staff for their timely support and assistance.
The couple safely had darshan of Lord Sri Venkateswara on Monday morning.
TTD appealed to devotees to strictly use designated queue routes prescribed by the temple administration and avoid entering prohibited forest areas in and around Tirumala for their own safety.
