TTD Clears Rs 5,456.26 Cr Budget for 2026–27, Focus on Pilgrim Services and Education

Tirumala, Feb 28 (TNT):  The Trust Board of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which administers the richest Lord Venkateswara Swamy temple in the Tirumala hills of Andhra Pradesh, on Saturday, approved a budget of Rs 5,456.26 crore for the financial year 2026–27.

Announcing the decision, TTD Board Chairman B.R. Naidu said the budget accords priority to education, security and pilgrim amenities.

Under major revenue heads, Kanuka and other capital receipts are estimated at Rs 1,880 crore for 2026–27 as against revised estimates of Rs 1,738 crore during 2025–26.

Prasadams are expected to generate Rs 650 crore, up from Rs 640 crore in the current year.

Receipts from Talaneelalu (hair offerings) are projected at Rs 175 crore compared to Rs 170 crore in 2025–26.

Income from accommodation and Kalyanamandapams has been pegged at Rs 173 crore, unchanged from the revised estimates of the previous year.

Arjitha Sevas are estimated to fetch Rs 135 crore in 2026–27, while Special Entrance Darshan and Break Darshan receipts are projected at Rs 310 crore, slightly higher than Rs 305 crore in the current fiscal.

Interest receipts are estimated at Rs 1,205 crore for 2026–27, marginally lower than Rs 1,250 crore in the revised estimates for 2025–26.

Naidu said an allocation of Rs 118.89 crore has been made to upgrade TTD educational institutions following the directions of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. The proposals include digital classrooms, hostel expansion and modernization of kitchens and infrastructure.

The Board cleared the launch of the “Srivari Mudupu Patram Scheme” on a pilot basis, enabling devotees to make vow offerings through UPI and deposit Mudupu receipts into the Hundi,he said

Approval was also given for construction of an additional Annaprasadam complex and a modern kitchen in Tirumala, with Reliance Industries Limited proposing a donation of Rs 100–120 crore, he informed.

At Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple in Vontimitta, an Rs 20.17 crore project for a Dry Island to install a 108-foot Jambavantha statue was sanctioned.

Free Tirumala laddu prasadam will be distributed to around 70,000 devotees during the Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam on April 1, he said.

Security measures include deployment of additional personnel, installation of X-ray scanners at Alipiri and establishment of a Command and Control Centre in Tirupati at a cost of Rs 10.75 crore, the Chairman said.

The Board also cleared development works for goshalas and other projects, and warned of strict legal action against false or misleading social media posts about Tirumala, he added.
