TTD Clarifies Adequate Ghee Stocks for Srivari Laddu Preparation

Tirumala, Mar 10 (TNT): Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Tuesday clarified that there is ‘no shortage of cow ghee’  required for the preparation of ‘Srivari Laddu’ prasadam at Tirumala, and urged devotees not to believe misinformation being circulated on social media.

In a statement, TTD said the supply of cow ghee for laddu preparation is being ensured through a three-tier procurement system by sourcing it from three different firms to avoid any disruption in supplies.

The temple body said a tanker belonging to Indapur Dairy carrying ghee to Tirumala had recently met with an accident near Kondapur. However, the incident has not affected ghee availability as supplies from the other two firms continue uninterrupted.

TTD said about seven lakh laddus are currently available for distribution to devotees and both preparation and distribution of the prasadam are continuing smoothly.

The temple authority also said advance arrangements have been made to meet the expected increase in pilgrim rush during the summer season, including periodic maintenance of machinery and conveyor belts in the laddu preparation unit.

TTD reiterated that there is no disruption in laddu preparation or Srivari sevas and appealed to devotees not to pay heed to baseless rumours.
