Ontimitta (Kadapa Dist, AP), Mar 27 (TNT): The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Friday commenced preparation and packing of Talambralu for the upcoming Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam at Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple here.
The ritual is part of the Sri Rama Navami Brahmotsavams, with the celestial wedding of Lord Rama and Sita scheduled to be held on April 1.
The programme began with special temple rituals, followed by a ceremonial procession of materials to the PAC near the Kalyana Vedika.
The sacred Talambralu prepared using rice, turmeric and ghee along with pearls and kankanam (sacred threads) are being packed into approximately 1.60 lakh packets for distribution during the festivities.
Around 600 Srivari Sevaks from Kadapa and Annamayya districts are participating in the preparation as part of their voluntary service during the Brahmotsavams.
Deputy Executive Officers Prashanthi and Siva Prasad, along with other officials, were present on the occasion.
