Undavalli (Andhra Pradesh), Apr 7 (TNT): Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education and IT Nara Lokesh on Tuesday directed officials to track every job created in both public and private sectors as part of the government’s target of generating 20 lakh jobs.
Chairing a sub-committee meeting on employment generation at his residence in Undavalli, Lokesh reviewed progress of industries, jobs created and the status of projects that have signed agreements with the government.
Officials informed that around 6.25 lakh jobs have already been generated in the state.
Lokesh said employment generation is a key priority and instructed that every job should be tracked through Aadhaar/KYC linkage, similar to a skill portal system.
He emphasised that both MSMEs and large industries are equally important and called for simplifying approvals and clearances to make the state more industry-friendly than global benchmarks such as Singapore and Dubai.
The Minister directed officials to map all approvals and NOCs required for industries and develop a tracking system to monitor timelines and clear bottlenecks.
He said 787 companies that have signed agreements with the government would be closely monitored, with weekly reviews to track progress in grounding investments.
Lokesh also called for strengthening the Economic Development Board (EDB) and appointing a single point of contact in each department for effective coordination.
Issues related to MSME parks and power banking for the textile sector were also discussed.
Ministers TG Bharat, Kollu Ravindra, P. Narayana, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, Kandula Durgesh and Kondapalli Srinivas, along with Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad and senior officials, attended the meeting.
