TOMO Protests Against G.O. 84, Seeks Review of Outdoor Advertising Policy

Hyderabad, Mar 25 (TNT): The Telangana Outdoor Media Owners Association (TOMO) on Wednesday staged a protest and organised an ‘Assembly March’ opposing Government Order (G.O.) No. 84 and the new outdoor advertising policy.

A large number of outdoor media owners, workers and stakeholders participated in the protest, alleging that the policy could adversely impact the industry and livelihoods dependent on it.

The association said the policy was introduced without adequate consultation and could lead to financial stress for businesses and nearly one lakh families associated with the sector.

TOMO General Secretary Ramesh said the industry is not against regulation but sought a practical and consultative approach in policy formulation.

The association also pointed out operational issues such as lack of clarity, delays and increased compliance burden under the new framework.

Warning of intensified agitation, TOMO urged the state government to withdraw G.O. 84, review the policy and initiate dialogue with stakeholders.

It also appealed to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to intervene and ensure a balanced policy framework safeguarding the industry.
