Kakinada, Feb 11 (TNT): Emphasising the spiritual truth that time tests every being without exception, Dr Umar Alisha, chief of Sri Viswa Vignana Vidya Adhyatmika Peetham, said only spiritual and philosophical wisdom enables human beings to face life’s trials with balance and grace.
Delivering his discourse at the valedictory of the three-day 98th annual spiritual congregation at the Peetham’s main ashram on the outskirts of Pithapuram near here on Wednesday, Swamiji observed that saints and spiritual masters too passed through the disciplines imposed by time. “No creature in nature can escape time, but spiritual awareness gives the strength to transcend its suffering,” he said.
Lamenting the growing influence of jealousy, hatred and revenge, Dr Alisha said such negative tendencies were distancing humanity from compassion and inner purity.
He called upon devotees to nourish themselves with the “nectar of spiritual and philosophical knowledge” and revive humanism through right conduct and awareness.
Linking spirituality with nature, Swamiji urged disciples to take part in the Peetham’s initiative ‘My Plant – My Breath’, stating that planting a sapling is a sacred act equivalent to preserving life, as “every sapling is like an oxygen cylinder”.
On the occasion, Dr Alisha released the Thathva Margam spiritual diary, along with rural development and Samachara Darsani brochures in Telugu and Hindi.
Dr Alisha later distributed sewing machines to the selected disciples on behalf of Umar Alisha rural development trust and also scholarships to the students of Kakinada Red Cross Green field Blind school and also Uma Mano Vikasa Kendram.
Ashram members Ahmed Alisha, Pingali Ananda kumar, G Ram Prasad, Shaik Amir Basha, Yerramsetti Umamaheswerarao spoke on the need for Dhyana, Jnana and Manthra – Triyee Sadhana preached by Peetham Chief.
Peetham Convenor Peruri Suribabu, Peetham Media convenor Akula Raviteja, Central committee members AVV Satyanarayana, NTV Varma, Swarnalatha and Bhaskar have supervised the programmes during the three day annual spiritual congregation.
