Three officials caught in two ACB traps in Telangana

Hyderabad, Apr 9 (TNT): Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday conducted two separate trap operations in Telangana, arresting three government officials for allegedly accepting bribes.

In the first case, Sedanka Sriman, Revenue Inspector (RI) of Anthargam Mandal in Peddapalli district, was caught red-handed by the ACB Karimnagar Unit while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 at the Tahsildar’s office in Anthargam.

The Accused Officer had allegedly demanded the amount from a complainant for conducting a field enquiry relating to the complainant’s mother’s land under the Bhu Bharathi Act-2025 and for submitting a report to the Tahsildar.

In the second trap, T. Pranay, Forest Range Officer (FRO) of Boath Range, and S. Parshuram, Junior Assistant, were caught by the ACB Adilabad Unit in Adilabad district while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000.

The duo allegedly demanded the amount for clearing a pending cheque of Rs 5.09 lakh relating to water supplied by the complainant for the Haritha Haram project under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.

The tainted bribe amounts were recovered during both operations.

ACB officials said the accused abused their official positions and acted dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.

All three officials were taken into custody and will be produced before the Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases in Karimnagar.

Further investigation is underway.
