Telangana to sign MoU with Harvard University for training officials : CM

Hyderabad, Feb 26 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday announced that the MCRHRD Institute will soon enter into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Harvard University to provide advanced training in public administration to state government officials.

Addressing newly recruited Group-I and Group-II officers after completion of their training at the institute here, the Chief Minister urged them to serve the people with dedication and fulfil the aspirations of Telangana martyrs.

He said government officials play a key role in delivering welfare schemes and must remain committed to public service.

Mr. Reddy said the previous BRS government had failed to recruit Group-I officers during its tenure and created hurdles in the recruitment process.

He said the present government reformed the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) and successfully conducted examinations without paper leaks, resulting in the selection of 582 candidates for Group-I and 1,775 candidates for Group-II posts.

Stating that the people of Telangana would not tolerate domination, the Chief Minister recalled revolutionary leaders such as Komaram Bheem and Sammakka-Saralamma who fought against oppression for justice and equality.

He also announced that the government would soon introduce a law to cut 10 to 15 per cent of the salaries of government employees who neglect their parents.
