Telangana to Revive Pranahita-Chevella Project; Adilabad Airport Foundation on June 2: CM

Adilabad, Apr 6 (TNT):Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday announced that the State Government will revive and execute the long-pending Pranahita-Chevella irrigation project at Tummidihatti, reaffirming his commitment to providing irrigation water and transforming Adilabad into a fertile region.

Addressing a public meeting at Pipri in the district, Reddy said all pending rrigation projects across Telangana would be completed, with priority given to ensuring water access for farmers.

He also announced that the foundation stone for the proposed Adilabad Airport will be laid on June 2, coinciding with Telangana Formation Day, to improve connectivity in the region.

Taking a swipe at the previous BRS government, Reddy alleged that no significant development had taken place during its decade-long rule and said people had rejected its “Gadi Palana.”

\He asserted that the present government is committed to equitable development without political discrimination.

Reiterating political confidence, the Chief Minister said the Congress would remain in power till 2034 while focusing on governance and welfare.

Outlining future plans, he said Adilabad would be developed into a hub for industries, education and tourism, with proposals including a university, temple development, and infrastructure expansion.

Highlighting welfare initiatives, Reddy cited schemes such as free bus travel for women, free electricity up to 200 units, housing under Indiramma, and subsidised rice distribution, stating that the government is committed to improving livelihoods across all sections of society.

Earlier the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the redevelopment of the Goddess Sri Gnana Saraswathi Devi temple in Basara in Nirmala District at an estimated cost of Rs 225 crore.

The Chief Minister, along with his family, offered prayers at the famed Basara temple.
