Hyderabad, Mar 12 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday said the Telangana government will introduce major reforms in the education sector from the next academic year.

Speaking after inaugurating Medicover Hospitals in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister said the government plans to introduce a new education system covering nursery to Class XII.

He said Telangana Public Schools will be established to provide quality education along with facilities such as free breakfast, meals and transport for students.

Revanth Reddy said the government will soon decide whether to provide free transportation to students of government schools or offer a 50 per cent concessional transport facility.

The Chief Minister also said the state government is planning to set up a Skills University to improve employability among students.

He added that if quality education is provided to all, the need for welfare schemes would gradually reduce, emphasising the government’s focus on strengthening the education system.
