Hyderabad, Mar 31 (TNT): Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Tuesday directed officials to organise Gram Sabhas across the state from April 2 under the “Praja Palana – Praja Pranalika (99-Day Action Plan)”.
Chairing a video conference with District Collectors, Bhatti said the Gram Sabhas should be conducted uniformly and used to communicate welfare schemes and upcoming initiatives to the public.
Officials were asked to read out beneficiary lists of key schemes such as Rythu Bharosa, free electricity up to 200 units and Indiramma housing, and to brief people on new schemes, including a proposed universal life insurance programme to be launched from June 2.
The Deputy Chief Minister also directed that information on initiatives such as the morning breakfast programme in government schools and the midday meal scheme for Intermediate students be shared.
He said details of funds released to Gram Panchayats should be disclosed at the village level during the meetings.
Bhatti added that the Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao and the Planning Department will monitor implementation through regular updates from Collectors, and stressed the need to highlight the government’s focus on both welfare and infrastructure development.
