Hyderabad, Apr 3 (TNT) : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday said Telangana aims to emerge as the textile capital of South Asia by 2047 and invited investors to partner in building a comprehensive textile ecosystem in the state.

Delivering the keynote address at the 13th Asian Textile Conference (ATEXCON 2026), organised by the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry in collaboration with the Telangana government, Reddy said textiles are an integral part of the state’s heritage and a key source of livelihood.
He highlighted that Telangana is among the leading producers of cotton in India, with globally recognised quality, and has developed world-class infrastructure such as the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park n Warangal.
Reddy said the government is offering industry-friendly policies, including land, power, water, incentives and fast-track approvals, along with a skilled workforce to support the sector.
Outlining the state’s long-term vision, he said “Telangana Rising 2047” aims to make the state a USD 1 trillion economy by 2034 and USD 3 trillion by 2047.
He said Telangana is already integrated into global value chains, linking its cotton production to fashion markets in major international cities.
The Chief Minister also emphasised sustainability, stating that the government is promoting green textile hubs and focusing on skilling youth, particularly women, with modern techniques.
“We are not just a state, we are reliable partners in success. Let us build a new future together,” he said, inviting global textile leaders to invest in Telangana.
Among those present at the event were Union Ministry of Textiles Additional Secretary Rohit Kansal, Development Commissioner for Handlooms Dr M. Beena, Telangana Textiles Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu, and Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao.
Key stakeholders from the global textile and apparel industry participated in the conference.
With the theme “Re-imagining the Future of Global Textiles,” the event focused on shifting global supply chains, sustainability challenges, and the growing role of technology in manufacturing and design.
The conference featured keynote addresses, panel discussions, expert interactions, a startup pitch showcase, and networking sessions.
