Palamuru (Mahabubnagar Dist.), Feb 4 (TNT) : Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President Nitin Nabin on Wednesday alleged that Telangana politics has reached a dangerous turning point under the Congress government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing it of pursuing “extreme appeasement politics” for electoral gains.
Addressing a massive Vijay Sankalp Sammellan here, Nitin Nabin said the Congress had crossed all limits by insulting Telugu culture, attacking Sanatana Dharma and promoting divisive slogans such as “Congress means Muslims and Muslims means Congress.”
He said such rhetoric exposed the party’s willingness to stoop to “degraded politics” to appease one particular section of voters.
Expressing serious concern over attacks on Hindu temples, the BJP chief criticised the state government’s silence on temple vandalism, encroachment of temple lands and restrictions on Hindu festivals.
Referring to incidents at Changicherla and Mutyalamma Temple, he warned that any assault on Sanatana Dharma would not be tolerated.
“Sanatana Dharma is the soul of India. If anyone attacks this soul, BJP workers will respond with full strength and sacrifice to protect our heritage,” he asserted.
Taking aim at the Congress government’s election guarantees, Nitin accused it of deceiving the people.
He said promises such as ₹2,500 monthly assistance, one tola of gold and ₹1 lakh under Kalyan Lakshmi, ₹15,000 per acre under Rythu Bharosa and ₹12,000 for farm labourers remain unfulfilled.
He further alleged that welfare funds meant for SCs, STs and OBCs were being cut, betraying marginalised communities.
Comparing the present regime with the previous BRS government, Nitin said corruption had continued unabated.
“Earlier it was commissions and land mafia; now it is ‘RR Tax’. Even small contractors are forced to pay commissions for bill clearances,” he charged, calling for the Congress government to be uprooted.
Highlighting the BJP-led Centre’s development agenda, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to Telangana’s growth through high-speed rail corridors connecting Hyderabad with Pune, Bengaluru and Chennai, along with pharma hubs, mega textile parks and industrial corridors.
Noting that the BJP secured over 35 per cent vote share in previous elections, the national president urged party cadres to target over 50 per cent votes at every booth in the upcoming polls.
He cited BJP victories in Maharashtra, Bihar and Haryana as proof of growing public trust in Modi’s leadership.
“Justice and development in Telangana are possible only under BJP rule. From local body polls to Parliament, every worker must ensure a BJP victory. That is our Sankalp for a developed Telangana,” Nitin declared.
BJP Telangana State President N. Ramchander Rao, Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy and Rajya Sabha MP Dr. K. Laxman were also present at the Sammelan.
