Telangana Minister Damodar lays foundation for Rs 41-cr critical care block at Kondapur

Hyderabad, Apr 9 (TNT):  Telangana Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha on Thursday laid the foundation stone for a 100-bed critical care block at Kondapur in the city to be constructed at a cost of Rs 41 crore.

Speaking after the ceremony, attended by local MLA Arikepudi Gandhi, Damodar said the facility would be completed at the earliest with advanced medical infrastructure.

He said the state government has launched a comprehensive trauma care policy to ensure accident victims and emergency patients receive timely medical assistance.

As part of the initiative, the government is establishing 109 trauma care centres along national and state highways across Telangana and strengthening the emergency response system to ensure assistance reaches within 10 minutes.

The number of 108 ambulances is also being increased, he said.

Damodar said the government is setting up 31 critical care blocks across the state, of which eight have already been inaugurated in Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Karimnagar, Mahabubabad, Jagtial, Sangareddy, Narayanpet and Adilabad.

Construction of the remaining 21 blocks is underway and all are expected to be completed by year-end, he added.

The Minister said the Kondapur facility would help address growing health concerns in the IT corridor, where sedentary lifestyles are contributing to increased health issues.
