Telangana Jagruthi Prez Kavitha says New Party Soon, seeks Lord Venkateswara’s blessings at Tirumala

Tirumala, Mar 5 (TNT):Telangana Jagruthi President and former MP,  Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Thursday said she would soon launch a new political party aimed at protecting Telangana’s rights and serving all sections of people in the state.

Speaking to the media at Alipiri before beginning the footpath journey to Tirumala, Kavitha said people in Telangana were looking for a credible political alternative, alleging that both BRS and BJP had failed in their role as opposition parties.

She said Congress secured the highest number of seats in the recent municipal elections largely due to the absence of a strong alternative.

“A political party should work for the region’s interests, people’s sentiments, identity and rights. Our goal is not just elections but the protection of Telangana’s rights,” she said.

Kavitha, the daughter of BRS Supremo and former Chief Minister KCR, said the proposed party would work for the welfare of all sections of society without discrimination and focus on addressing people’s issues at the grassroots level.

She added that the agenda of the new party would prioritise groups that were allegedly neglected by the BRS, including families of martyrs, activists, women and youth.

Referring to the Delhi liquor policy case, she said she and her family had faced severe mental distress for four years over allegations related to a mistake she did not commit.

“With honesty and the blessings of Lord Venkateswara, the court dismissed the case,” she said, adding that she had come to Tirumala to fulfil a vow of visiting the temple on foot and to seek the deity’s blessings for her future political plans.

Kavitha clarified that she had no hatred toward the people of Andhra Pradesh, stating that her opposition had always been only to the dominance of certain political leaders.

She said both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana should focus on their own development following the bifurcation.

She also expressed concern over the recent controversy surrounding alleged adulteration in Tirumala laddus and urged the government to take steps to restore devotees’ confidence in the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD).

Kavitha said supporters from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, along with members of Telangana Jagruthi and her family, had accompanied her for the Tirumala visit.
