Hyderabad, Apr 12 (TNT):The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education on Sunday announced the Intermediate Public Examination (IPE) 2026 results for both first- and second-year students, recording an overall improvement in pass percentages.
In the second year, 70.58% of students cleared the examination.
Out of 5,07,948 candidates who appeared across general and vocational streams, 3,58,490 passed.
Officials said this marks a noticeable rise compared to last year.
For first-year students, the overall pass percentage stood at 66.20%.
In total, over 9.97 lakh candidates registered for the examinations this year.
Girls continued their consistent lead over boys in both years.
In the first year, 74.43% of girls passed compared to 59.21% of boys.
In the second year, 81.78% of girls cleared the exams, significantly higher than the 68.99% pass rate among boys.
Students who did not pass can appear for the Intermediate Public Advanced Supplementary Examination (IPASE), scheduled to begin from May 13, the Board said in a release here.
The board reported strong digital engagement immediately after the results were released, with around 19,000 and 56,000 students downloading their marks memos.
For the first time, marks lists were also sent directly to students’ registered mobile numbers.
Candidates seeking recounting or re-verification can apply online through the official BIE website.
The fee is ₹1,00 per paper for recounting and ₹800 per paper for scanned copy-cum-reverification. Applications will be accepted from April 13 to April 20.
To support student well-being, the board has arranged counsellors in 2,500 junior colleges to help students cope with stress and exam-related anxiety, the release said.
District-wise, Medchal recorded the highest pass percentage at 82.73%, followed by Jayashankar Bhupalpally (82.34%) and Komaram Bheem (82.16%).
The lowest pass percentage of 58.69% was reported in Rajanna Sircilla district.
The results were released by Advisor to the Government (Public Affairs) K. Keshava Rao and Education Department Secretary Ms Yogita Rana, and are available on the official portals : https://tgbie.cgg.gov.in and https://rersults.cgg.gov.in.
Addressing on the occasion, Keshava Rao said that the state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, has introduced several policy initiatives in the education sector to encourage students to join government educational institutions.
He stated that these measures have contributed to a steady rise in admissions in government junior colleges, along with improved academic performance, he said.
The initiatives are aimed at strengthening public education infrastructure, enhancing teaching standards, and making quality education more accessible to all sections of society, he added.
Ms Yogita Rana said that enrolment in government junior colleges has been steadily increasing every year across the state.
Highlighting academic performance, the Secretary noted that government junior colleges have consistently recorded better pass percentages compared to private institutions in Telangana.
This trend reflects growing trust among students and parents in the quality of education and academic support provided in government institutions, she added.
