Telangana Govt to integrate Temples, Tourism and Culture : Dy CM Bhatti

Hyderabad, Mar 1 (TNT): Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday asserted that arts represent the soul of Telangana and affirmed that the State Government is giving top priority to the promotion of arts and culture.

Participating in the grand Ramadasu Jayanthi celebrations held at the LB Indoor Stadium here, Bhatti  paid tributes to Bhadrachala Ramadasu, describing him as a great composer and a pride of Telangana soil.

The Deputy CM recalled that Gopanna, born in Nelakondapalli, attained eternal recognition as Bhakta Ramadasu through his devotion and devotional compositions.

He said the historic Bhadrachalam Temple, built during his time, and his keertanas continue to live in the hearts of Telugu people.

Stating that the people’s government has taken several measures to restore the past glory of artists and preserve the State’s cultural heritage, Bhatti said that over the past two years, numerous cultural programmes have been organised under the aegis of the Sangeet Natak Akademi to communicate developmental achievements to the public through art forms.

He noted that the public responded enthusiastically and assured continued financial assistance for such initiatives.

Emphasising that arts are not merely for entertainment but serve as instruments of social awakening, he said Telangana has a rich tradition of using art forms to spread awareness and address rural issues. A

fter state bifurcation, he added, the government has been officially organising festivals to highlight the contributions of regional composers and cultural icons.

In a key directive, the Deputy CM asked the Akademi to prepare a special action plan integrating tourism and culture by connecting UNESCO-recognised heritage sites like the Ramappa Temple with ancient temples across the State to promote cultural tourism.

Expressing happiness over the growing enthusiasm for arts and culture, he assured that the government would extend full financial support for organising such cultural programmes in the future.
