Telangana Govt Committed to Making Farmers ‘Kings’: CM Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad, Mar 19 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday asserted that the state government is committed to the welfare of the farming community, with the goal of making agriculture a lucrative profession and farmers the “kings” of all occupations.   

Participating in the Sri Parabhava Nama Ugadi celebrations held at Ravindra Bharathi here, Revanth Reddy said the new Telugu year is being dedicated to farmers’ welfare.

He stated that the government is working towards transforming agriculture into a profitable sector to elevate farmers’ status.

The Chief Minister announced that the Rythu Bharosa financial assistance will be released and credited to farmers’ accounts on March 22. He noted that the state has already spent ₹18,000 crore under the scheme.

In addition, the government is providing bonuses along with remunerative prices to support farmers, he said.

Highlighting relief measures, Revanth Reddy said the government has waived farm loans up to ₹2 lakh, significantly reducing the financial burden on farmers.

He added that Telangana now has the lowest farmer debt burden in the country, with nearly 70 percent of families dependent on agriculture.

The Chief Minister also underlined the introduction of the Bhu Bharati initiative to resolve land ownership issues, replacing the Dharani portal, which had caused difficulties for farmers.

Reaffirming the government’s vision, he said Telangana is moving forward with the aim of becoming a leading state in the country.

Addressing concerns over natural calamities, he assured that the government remains vigilant and prepared.

On the occasion of Ugadi, the Chief Minister prayed for peace, prosperity, and protection from natural disasters for the people of Telangana.

The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, Konda Surekha, and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud and senior officials.
