Hyderabad, Apr 9 (TNT): Telangana Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao on Thursday directed officials to make extensive arrangements for the forthcoming ‘Godavari Pushkaralu’ to ensure devotees do not face any inconvenience.
Chairing a review meeting at the Secretariat on preparations for the event, Ramakrishna said large-scale arrangements should be made in view of the expected influx of devotees for the holy bath.
He noted that the Godavari River basin extends across eight districts from Kandakurthi in Nizamabad district to Bhadrachalam, and a large number of pilgrims are expected to visit the ghats during the Pushkaralu.
Ramakrishna Rao said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had already issued directions regarding the arrangements and asked officials to prepare proposals accordingly and submit them to the Cabinet Sub-Committee constituted for the Godavari Pushkaralu.
He also directed the committee of Engineers-in-Chief and Chief Engineers appointed for the event to examine the proposed works relating to Pushkar arrangements.
