Telangana CM Targets KCR over Dalit Issues in Assembly

Hyderabad, Mar 29 (TNT): In a sharp political attack, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday criticised former Chief Minister and BRS Chief K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), accusing him of being “anti-Dalit” and failing to fulfil the promise of making a Dalit leader the first Chief Minister of Telangana.

Speaking in the Assembly, Revanth Reddy alleged that KCR was avoiding Assembly proceedings and questioned his absence, claiming it was due to discomfort with a Dalit Speaker presiding over the House.

The Chief Minister said the Congress government had given prominence to Dalit leaders, including appointing Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu as Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister.

He condemned what he described as derogatory remarks by BRS members against senior leaders and ministers, including Seethakka, and said such behaviour was unacceptable.

Revanth Reddy also urged the Speaker to take action against Padi Kaushik Reddy for alleged unruly behaviour, suggesting the matter be referred to the Ethics Committee.

He further criticised the BRS for encouraging defections during its tenure and said Assembly proceedings should be conducted with decorum and respect for institutional norms.
