Telangana CM Revanth Reddy positions Municipal Victory as Mandate against BRS rule

Hyderabad, Feb 14 ( TNT): In a clear political assertion following the municipal election victories, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Saturday declared that the results reflect public endorsement of the Congress government’s governance model and a rejection of the decade-long rule of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
Chairing a review meeting with Cabinet ministers, Revanth Reddy described the municipal poll outcome as a “political validation” of the Congress administration’s welfare and development agenda implemented over the last two years.
The CM  congratulated his ministers for what he termed a “collective political effort” that translated governance into electoral success.
He asserted that the Congress government had achieved in two years what the previous BRS regime could not accomplish in ten.
“The municipal election results are a clear message from the people. They have chosen development and transparent governance over the failures of the past decade,” he said, in an apparent swipe at the previous government.
The Chief Minister emphasized that municipalities and municipal corporations in Telangana must now function as model urban bodies for the country — a move seen as both an administrative target and a political strategy ahead of future elections.
Sources indicated that the meeting also focused on strengthening grassroots political networks, ensuring effective delivery of welfare schemes, and consolidating voter confidence in urban constituencies — traditionally seen as competitive battlegrounds.
Revanth Reddy urged ministers to maintain momentum and ensure that welfare benefits directly reach citizens, underlining that sustained governance performance will be crucial in upcoming electoral contests.
The municipal results are being viewed within Congress circles as a stepping stone toward broader political consolidation in Telangana, as the party aims to further weaken the BRS’s urban base.
