Telangana CM challenges BJP to arrest KCR, Harish Rao in Kaleshwaram Scam

Nizamabad, Feb 6 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday demanded that the BJP-led Union government clarify whether it is prepared to arrest former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and senior BRS leader T Harish Rao in the alleged Kaleshwaram irrigation project scam.

Addressing a public meeting here , Revanth Reddy questioned why no action had been taken despite the State government seeking a CBI probe.

He accused Union Minister G Kishan Reddy of remaining silent and alleged that the BJP was shielding BRS leaders.

The CM also challenged Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Arvind to persuade Prime Minister Narendra Modi to order arrests in the case.

He claimed the ₹1 lakh crore Kaleshwaram project had failed and symbolised corruption under the previous BRS regime.

Revanth Reddy criticised the BJP for failing to secure central funds for Nizamabad’s development, including Smart City status, an outer ring road and an airport.

He asserted that the State government would take responsibility for bringing an airport to the district and announced substantial allocations for education and municipal development.

He urged voters to reject both BJP and BRS, calling them “two sides of the same coin,” and expressed confidence that Congress would retain power in the 2029 elections.
