Telamgama Legislative Council Chairman warns of contract cancellation if delays in building works

Hyderabad, Feb 3(TNT) : Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy on Tuesday cautioned contractors that their contracts would be cancelled if there are delays in the reconstruction works of the Legislative Council building within the Legislature premises.

Reviewing the progress of the works along with Legislative Council Secretary Dr. Narasimha Charyulu, officials from the Roads and Buildings department, representatives of the Aga Khan Trust, and other officials, the Chairman stressed the need for strict adherence to timelines.

The review was conducted in line with the directions of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who has instructed that the Legislative Council Hall be inaugurated at the earliest.

Addressing the meeting, Gutha Sukender Reddy said the government is keen on conducting the upcoming Budget Session of the Legislative Council in this building, which is located adjacent to the Assembly.

He stated that the Chief Minister has recently reviewed the status of the works completed so far and has issued clear instructions that the Budget Session must be held in the Legislative Council building within the Assembly premises.

The Chairman directed officials to ensure there is no delay in the construction works, to increase the pace of execution, and to complete the building at the earliest and hand it over to the Legislative Council authorities.
