Hyderabad, Mar 14 (TNT): The SSC Public Examinations–2026 began smoothly across Telangana on Saturday, with over 5.15 lakh students appearing for the first day’s First Language paper, according to the Directorate of Government Examinations Telangana.
A total of 5,17,197 regular candidates had registered for the examination, of whom 5,15,374 appeared, while 1,823 were absent, officials said in a press note.
In the private category, 786 candidates had registered, of whom 626 appeared and 160 were absent.
Officials said flying squads and other authorities inspected 1,240 examination centres across the state to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations. No malpractice cases were reported on the first day.
However, one Chief Superintendent, one Departmental Officer and one Invigilator were relieved of their duties and replaced at an examination centre in Khammam district for negligence, the department said.
