Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations promote women empowerment through skill training

Visakhapatnam, Mar 7 (TNT): Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations are promoting women empowerment by providing free skill development programmes to economically weaker sections, enabling them to become self-reliant, said R. Lakshmana Rao, State President of the organisation in Andhra Pradesh.

Lakshmana Rao on Friday visited the Bhajan Mandali Mandir at Chinamushidivada under the Simhachalam Samithi in Visakhapatnam district and addressed devotees on the occasion.

He said the organisation gives special emphasis to the upliftment of economically weaker sections, particularly women, by conducting free skill development programmes such as tailoring training.

As part of the initiative, Lakshmana Rao presented a sewing machine to a needy woman who successfully completed a 30-day free tailoring training programme conducted at the Chinamushidivada Mandir.

He said such programmes help women achieve economic independence and dignified livelihoods, thereby strengthening families and contributing to the development of society.

Lakshmana Rao also stressed the need to strengthen Bal Vikas activities to nurture human values and spiritual awareness among children.

He further suggested expanding the Nithya Narayana Seva programme, which provides free food to the needy, so that meals could be served daily through organised distribution.

Encouraging devotees to maintain spiritual discipline, he said regular chanting of Omkar and Suprabhatam helps attain mental peace and inner strength.

On the occasion, students appearing for Class 10 examinations were blessed and presented with examination pad kits wishing them success in their studies.

The programme was attended by District President P. R. S. N. Naidu, State Service Wing Joint Coordinator D. Raghava Rao, office-bearers of Simhachalam Samithi and several devotees.
