Tirumala, Feb 6 (TNT) : Senior IAS officer Muddada Ravichandra on Friday formally assumed charge as the Executive Officer (EO) of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, following age-old temple traditions.

Currently serving as Special Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Ravichandra was given full additional charge as TTD EO through G.O. Rt. No. 154 issued on February 2, 2026, following the transfer of the previous incumbent in connection with the ghee adulteration case.

As per custom, the new EO first offered prayers at Sri Varaha Swamy Temple and proceeded through the Vaikuntham Queue Complex to the Mahadwaram of the Tirumala Temple, where he had darshan of Sri Venkateswara Swamy in the sanctum sanctorum.

Ravichandra took oath as the ex-officio member of the TTD Board at Bangaru Vakili, administered by TTD Additional EO Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary.

He was rendered Vedasirvachanam by Vedic pundits at the Ranganayakula Mandapam and later presented Theertha Prasadams and a laminated photo of Srivaru.

Speaking to the media, Ravichandra said he prayed for strength to serve devotees with dedication and thanked Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for entrusting him with the responsibility.

He said he would work in coordination with the TTD Board and welcome suggestions from devotees to further enhance pilgrim-friendly services.

Later in the day, the new EO held review meetings with heads of departments at Tirumala and Tirupati.

A 1996-batch IAS officer, Ravichandra is expected to focus on strengthening governance, improving pilgrim services and taking forward action related to the ghee adulteration issue.
