Special plan for Kakinada beautification : Kakinada Municipal Commissioner

Kakinada, Feb 19 (TNT): Municipal commissioner NVV Satyanarayana said that special plans were underway to ensure beautification of the Kakinada city.

During his intensive field visit to Sasikanth nagar and Friends colony areas on Thursday ,he interacted with the local residents and also received the suggestions from the officials on issues such as  sanitation improvement and drinking water supply.

He said sanitation plays a pivotal role in city beautification and constant supervision is essential for keeping the wards clean and neat.

The Commissioner heard complaints from the residents on the quality of drinking water supplied and immediately tested the water from municipal taps in presence of the public. The water technicians after testing the water samples have clarified that the municipal tap water was totally  safe to consume and it is up to the prescribed standards .

The commissioner further advised the people to pay the municipal taxes on time as tax  collection is vital for city development.

He sought the peoples cooperation in timely payment of property tax, water tax so that the city can be developed all round . As a part of the field visit, the Commissioner has visited the parks also.

He assured the colony residents that the parks would be developed quickly, improving the greenery in the park and arranging play material for the children. The residential welfare association members have complained to the commissioner on drainage problem, street lights non-repairing and the bad condition of roads.

The commissioner assured them of taking remedial measures in a phased manner. Health Officer Dr D. Prudhwicharan, TPS Ramamohan, Des Lakshminarayana, Praveen, Sanitation Inspector  Durgaprasad and ward secretariat staff accompanied the Commissioner during the field visit.
