Hyderabad, Feb 23 (TNT): South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava on Monday presented the “Employee of the Month” Safety Awards to 15 employees in recognition of their alertness and contribution towards ensuring safe train operations.
The awards were presented during a safety review meeting held at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad.
Additional General Manager Satya Prakash and Principal Heads of Departments were present, while Divisional Railway Managers of Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded divisions participated through video conference.
The awardees included frontline staff such as Track Maintainers, Station Masters, Loco Pilots, Pointsmen and Keymen who prevented unsafe conditions during the course of duty.
Division-wise, three employees each from Secunderabad, Nanded and Guntakal divisions were honoured, five from Vijayawada division and one from Guntur division.
Congratulating the employees, the General Manager said that recognising safety-conscious staff would encourage others to remain vigilant and committed to maintaining high safety standards in railway operations.
During the review meeting, Mr. Srivastava directed officials to strictly adhere to safety protocols at worksites and avoid shortcuts. He instructed officers and supervisors to conduct regular safety drives and surprise inspections to ensure compliance with laid-down procedures.
He also stressed that safety should never be compromised and called for strengthening fire safety arrangements, regular inspection of points and crossings, and prompt removal of construction materials near tracks after completion of works.
