Miryalaguda (Nalgonda Dist), Feb 4 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Wednesday evening made a series of politically charged announcements and remarks, declaring that the Rythu Bharosa assistance would be credited to farmers’ bank accounts immediately after the municipal elections, with ₹9,000 crore to be released under the scheme.
Addressing a massive public meeting after laying foundation stones for several development works here, Revanth reddy positioned the Congress government as pro-farmer and pro-poor, while launching a sharp attack on the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) regime.
He accused former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and his family of “plundering Telangana’s wealth” during their decade-long rule.
He dared the KCR family to donate their farmhouses and media establishments to the people of Telangana, naming K T Rama Rao(KT), T Harish Rao, and KCR as beneficiaries of power and assets under the BRS regime.
“KCR cannot be called the father of Telangana after looting the state. He must first apologise to the people,” the Chief Minister said, asserting that Professor Jayashankar should be recognised as the real Father of Telangana, while Sonia Gandhi should be regarded as the ‘Goddess of Telangana’ for taking the historic decision to grant statehood.
Referring to the phone-tapping controversy, Revanth Reddy alleged that the BRS government had snooped on journalists, judges, film personalities, political leaders, and even spouses.
He questioned criticism over summoning KCR for questioning, stating that KCR, KTR, and Harish Rao should have been brought before investigating agencies “with face masks.”
Making a direct electoral pitch, the Chief Minister appealed to voters to teach the BRS a “befitting lesson” in the upcoming municipal polls.
He asserted that all municipalities would be developed over the next eight years under Congress rule and predicted victory in all 123 municipalities.
He further claimed that if women voters overwhelmingly support Congress, both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and BRS would forfeit their deposits.
Highlighting welfare initiatives, he announced that more Indiramma houses would be sanctioned in the 2026–27 Budget.
Revanth Reddy accused the BRS of neglecting the poor and farmers, contrasting it with Congress initiatives such as free RTC bus travel for women, fine rice distribution, 200 units of free electricity, job creation, loan waivers, and large-scale housing sanctions.
He asserted that Congress would return to power in the next Assembly elections with a stronger mandate.
“The enthusiasm of women and the massive turnout here reflect the inevitable Congress victory,” the Chief Minister added.
