Hyderabad, Mar 29 (TNT): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday said the state government was ready to hand over alleged illegal mining cases to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) if doubts persist over the ongoing CBCID inquiry.
He asserted that action would be taken against all those found guilty.
Speaking in the Assembly, Revanth Reddy said there would be no hesitation in acting against anyone, including Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy or even members of his own family, if found involved in illegal mining.
He, however, ruled out any question of the minister’s resignation.
He said the Mining Department had already collected pending tax dues from Raghava Constructions in 2025 and stressed that the government was committed to increasing revenues and utilising them for public welfare.
Responding to opposition demands for a House Committee, Revanth Reddy alleged that the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government had constituted such committees and misused them for political purposes, including blackmail and encouraging defections.
The Chief Minister said the government would not constitute a House Committee for “political mileage” and instead urged BRS leaders T. Harish Rao and K. T. Rama Rao to submit evidence to the CBCID for further investigation.
He appealed to members across parties to provide information on alleged exploitation of mineral resources, assuring a thorough probe and strict action against those responsible.
