New Delhi, Mar 9 (TNT): P. V. Sindhu, Olympic medallist and Padma Shri awardee, has been named the official ambassador of the EBG Foundation to support initiatives focused on child welfare, grassroots sports development and women’s empowerment in India.
The partnership aims to strengthen the foundation’s community-based programmes and expand its outreach through structured initiatives aimed at improving access to education, sports opportunities and economic empowerment, the foundation said in a release on Monday.
As part of the collaboration, the foundation will focus on three key initiatives.
The ‘Children for Life’ programme advocates children’s access to education, healthcare and a safe environment and has begun implementation in Telangana.
“True success is meaningful only when it uplifts others. Partnering with EBG Foundation allows me to support causes that are deeply important to me, including children’s development, youth empowerment and women’s progress,” Sindhu said.
The second initiative, ‘Champion’, aims to identify and nurture grassroots sporting talent by providing coaching support, equipment and nutritional assistance to young athletes.
The third programme, ‘Naari Shakti’, launched in December 2025, focuses on women’s economic empowerment by providing financial assistance of ₹1,500 per month to support vocational training and income generation.
Irfan Khan, CEO and Founder of EBG Group, said Sindhu’s association aligns with the organisation’s vision of building sustainable support systems for communities.
The collaboration will also include three short awareness films featuring Sindhu highlighting issues related to child nutrition, grassroots sports opportunities and women’s empowerment, the foundation said.
