Tirupati, Apr 7 (TNT):The sacred Pushpayagam will be conducted with devotion and reverence at the Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple in Tirupati on April 23.
On this occasion, Ankurarpana (preliminary ritual) for the Pushpayagam will be performed on the evening of April 22.
On April 23, Snapana Tirumanjanam will be performed to the Lord and Goddess from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Later, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, the Pushpayagam will be conducted to Sri Kodandarama Swamy, along with Sita and Lakshmana, using a variety of fragrant flowers.
Subsequently, at 7:00 PM, Sri Kodandarama Swamy, accompanied by Sita and Lakshmana, will be taken in a procession through the four Mada streets of the temple, blessing the devotees with darshan.
Householders (two persons) can participate in this Pushpayagam by purchasing a ticket priced at ₹1,000.
It is known that the annual Brahmotsavams were conducted with grandeur at the Sri Kodandarama Swamy Temple from March 17 to 25.
This Pushpayagam is being performed as an act of atonement (Prayaschitta) for any inadvertent lapses that may have occurred during the Brahmotsavams and daily rituals.
Temple priests stated that this ritual helps remove all doshas and ensures the welfare of the world.
