Priority for Common Devotees at Simhachalam Chandanotsavam: Minister

Visakhapatnam, Mar 24 (TNT):  Andhra Pradesh Social Welfare and District In-charge Minister Dola Sree Balaveeranjaneya Swamy on Tuesday directed officials to accord top priority to common devotees during the annual Chandanotsavam of Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Simhachalam, scheduled on April 20.

Reviewing arrangements at the Collectorate along with MLAs and district officials, the Minister stressed that all preparations must be completed by April 17 and cautioned against any lapses in ticketing and event management.

He also instructed officials to ensure proper regulation in the issuance of vehicle and duty passes.

District Collector M N Harendhira Prasad said elaborate arrangements are being made to facilitate smooth darshan for devotees.

Darshan will commence at 3 am on April 20, with separate queues for free darshan as well as ₹300, ₹1,000 and ₹1,500 ticket holders, he said.

Around 50 APSRTC buses will be deployed to transport common devotees to the hill shrine, while mini buses will be arranged for higher-ticket categories, he said to streamline entry and prevent misuse, tickets will carry holograms and QR codes.

Basic amenities including drinking water, sanitation facilities, medical camps and ambulance services will be provided to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees, the Collector added.
