Adilabad, Apr 6 (TNT): Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Monday said the Praja Palana–Pragati Baata programme reflects the government’s commitment to people-centric governance, asserting that policies are being shaped by public aspirations.
Addressing a massive public meeting at Pipri village in the district, Bhatti said the event was conceptualised by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, under whose leadership foundation stones were laid for development works worth ₹1,238 crore.
The Deputy CM said the government aims to build an equitable society free from inequalities and emphasised that Telangana must be governed by its people, not by feudal forces.
He added that governance is being carried out in a manner that instils pride among citizens while fulfilling electoral promises.
Recalling his padayatra from Pipri to Khammam, he said assurances given during the march are being implemented on priority, particularly in the erstwhile Adilabad region.
He described the programme as a continuation of the bond built with people rather than a political exercise.
Highlighting welfare initiatives, he said the government has launched the Indiramma Housing scheme with an outlay of ₹22,500 crore, sanctioning 4.5 lakh houses across the state.
Under Rythu Bharosa, ₹9,000 crore was credited to farmers’ accounts within nine days, while free electricity up to 200 units is being provided to the poor, he said.
He also noted that the Mahalakshmi scheme offering free bus travel for women has seen over 300 crore journeys, with the government reimbursing RTC accordingly.
The Deputy CM said the government is investing heavily in education through Young India Integrated Residential Schools, each being developed on 25 acres with an investment of ₹200 crore, aimed at bringing together children from all sections of society.
To address malnutrition among students, he said the government has introduced breakfast along with ragi malt or milk in schools, particularly in districts like Adilabad.
He further said initiatives such as Indiramma accident insurance and Rajiv Yuva Vikas are aimed at strengthening social security and promoting self-employment among youth, while adding that the government is working towards creating one crore women millionaire.
Reiterating the government’s vision, Bhatti said leaders emerging from rural backgrounds understand the struggles of farmers and the poor, and affirmed that public welfare remains the sole agenda of the administration.
