Hyderabad, Mar 12 (TNT): Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu on Thursday said the role of the police department will be crucial in achieving Telangana’s goal of becoming a $3 trillion economy by 2047, stressing the need for strong law and order to attract investments.

e-budget meetings with the Home, Industries and IT departments at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Secretariat here, Bhatti said maintaining a stable security environment is essential as more investors are showing interest in the state.
He instructed officials of the Home Department to ensure there are no lapses in maintaining law and order and directed that surveillance systems be strengthened to monitor developments closely.
The Dy CM also suggested the phased introduction of electric vehicles in the police department as part of the government’s broader push towards sustainable mobility.
Emphasising crime prevention, he said the use of CCTV cameras should be expanded across the state and repairs carried out wherever required to enhance monitoring capabilities.
The Deputy CM said achieving the long-term economic target would require greater adoption of the Public–Private Partnership (PPP) model and asked the Industries Department to prepare strategies accordingly.
He also highlighted the need to focus on RARE (Rural Agri Region Economy) along with existing development initiatives such as CURE and PURE, stressing that balanced rural and urban growth is essential for the state’s overall development.
Encouraging the growth of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) will remain a key priority as they can generate large-scale employment and help youth become entrepreneurs, he added.
Telangana IT Minister Dudilla Sridhar Babu said Telangana currently ranks first in the country with 41 Global Capability Centres (GCCs) and the government will continue to support the sector’s expansion. The Deputy CM also advised promoting wider use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in data centres.
Chief Secretary A. Ramakrishna Rao, Finance Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Home Department Special Chief Secretary C. V. Anand and other senior officials attended the meeting.
