New Delhi, Mar 23 (TNT) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid rich tributes to noted socialist leader and thinker Dr Ram Manohar Lohia on his birth anniversary, recalling his significant contributions to India’s freedom struggle and social thought.
Describing Dr Lohia as a multifaceted personality, Modi highlighted his pivotal role in mobilising people against colonial rule and his continued efforts towards nation-building after Independence.
He noted that Dr Lohia emerged as one of the foremost voices of social justice in the country.
Modi said Dr Lohia’s unwavering commitment to empowering the poor and marginalised continues to inspire generations. He also underlined the enduring relevance of Lohia’s ideas on gender equality and participatory governance.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Tributes to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Ji on his birth anniversary.
