Over 10,000 runners mark 10th edition of Seva Bharathi’s ‘Run for a Girl Child’ in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Mar 1 (TNT): Seva Bharathi Telangana celebrated a decade of impact with the 10th edition of its flagship initiative, ‘Run for a Girl Child’, at Gachibowli Stadium here on Sunday.

The event saw over 10,000 participants across 5K, 10K, and 21K categories, joining hands to empower girls from underprivileged communities through education, healthcare, and skill development.

Flagged off by cricket legend Mithali Raj, District Collector Ms. Hari Chandana, and leaders from Freedom Healthy Cooking Oils, GlobalData, PalTech, and Seva Bharathi, the run highlighted the power of collective action in creating equitable opportunities for girls.

“Seeing thousands of Hyderabadis run today for this cause is truly inspiring,” said Mithali Raj. “Empowerment isn’t just financial aid it’s giving these girls confidence and a platform to lead,” she added.

Mr. P. Chandra Shekhara Reddy, Freedom Healthy Cooking Oils, said “Investing in a girl’s education transforms families and nations. Every step taken today contributes directly to their growth and confidence.”

Over the past ten years, the initiative has positively impacted more than 35,000 girls, with each registration today fueling the next chapter of this legacy, according to Jayaprada Devi, Joint Secretary, Seva Bharathi Telangana.
