Orient Electric Unveils India’s First Oxygen-Enriching Ceiling Fan ‘ Aero O2’

Hyderabad, Mar 31 (TNT): Orient Electric Limited, part of the USD 3 billion CKA Birla Group, on Tuesday announced the launching of ‘Aero O2’, which it claims is India’s first oxygen-enriching ceiling fan, aimed at improving indoor air quality in urban homes.

In a release, the company said the product is powered by its patented Bio-Oxy Plasma ION+ technology, designed to release active ions that help break down pollutants such as PM2.5, smoke and microbes, while enhancing oxygen levels indoors.

Speaking on the launch, Ravindra Singh Negi, Managing Director and CEO of Orient Electric, said the innovation responds to growing concerns over indoor air quality and the need for low-maintenance solutions. He added that the product combines cooling performance with continuous air detoxification and oxygen enrichment.

According to the company, tests conducted by a NABL-accredited laboratory show that the fan can increase oxygen levels by up to 90% within eight hours, reduce toxic gases such as NO₂, SO₂ and CO₂ by up to 75%, and neutralise up to 99.99% of airborne microbes. It also claims to improve the Indoor Air Quality Index by up to 60%.

The fan is equipped with a 38W BLDC motor and 1200 mm blades, delivering 250 CMM air output with low noise. Additional features include a remote control, reverse rotation mode for winter use, and an independent air purification function.

With the launch of Aero O2, the company said it aims to redefine the ceiling fan segment by integrating air purification capabilities with everyday appliances.
