Hyderabad, Mar 25 (TNT): Telangana BJP President N Ramchander Rao on Wednesday asserted that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel or gas in the state and accused the Congress of spreading “false information” to create panic among the public.
Addressing a gathering after welcoming leaders and workers from various parties into the BJP in Rajendranagar constituency of Rangareddy district, near here, Rao said adequate fuel stocks are available and supply chains are functioning normally.
He said oil marketing companies such as HPCL, IOCL and BPCL have sufficient reserves, and both officials and dealers have confirmed that there is no scarcity of petrol or diesel.
Rao urged people not to believe rumours, stating that the Centre has taken precautionary measures in view of the ongoing global situation to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Alleging political motives, he said the Congress was attempting to mislead the public by spreading misinformation about fuel shortages.
The BJP leader also targeted Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy over his remarks on delimitation, accusing him of trying to create divisions between North and South India.
He rejected claims that delimitation would disadvantage southern states and said several top constitutional positions are currently held by leaders from South India.
Rao further alleged that the Congress was opposing delimitation as it is not in favour of implementing 33 per cent reservation for women, and asserted that the BJP would provide greater representation to women and youth in upcoming elections.
Earlier, Rao welcomed several leaders, including a BRS up-sarpanch and workers from other parties, into the BJP.
